Hey guys. First of all I would like to give a shoutout to @robbob77 who was my latest winner for my featured contest. Make sure to follow my Instagram and Facebook profiles to see his awesome picture he sent me of beating up some poor guy back in his Junior Hockey days. But he commented and said he wanted to see some bench press so I decided to follow his advice in this next workout while also putting my touch onto it as well.
Here it is:
Strength:
10 sets of 10 reps
Bench Press
Leg Extensions
Hamstring Curls
(Superset the Leg Extensions and Hamstring Curls)
Conditioning:
Interval Sprints of 30 sec on and 45 sec rest (do this for 10 sprints)
I have been scrambling to find ways to mix up my exercises during this time and today I decided to do what I could with the equipment that I have in my shop. Bench press is a great way to build chest, arms, and shoulder strength so it was an easy call for me to add this into my workout. For the Leg extensions I did not have enough weight to make it really challenging with normal reps so I did 10 pause reps to make the weight as difficult as I could but leg extensions is a great way to build quad strength which is a major muscle that is involved with skating. I also did hamstring curls because Hamstring strength is directly related to sprinting speed and you need to have strong hamstrings to be fast. The conditioning is great for training for duplicating what it will be like on the ice. The interval sprinting is meant to duplicate a shift but it is also a great way to push yourself to a max heart rate level which will improve cardiovascular stamina.
For Nutrition today I will briefly be going over protein. I am not an expert in the field of nutrition but I know what works for me and certain general truths about nutrition that can benefit your performance. Now protein is an essential in your diet and it allows you to build and keep muscle if you are eating the right amount everyday. This is where you should calculate your macros and figure out how much protein you should be having a day. It is also important to note that too much protein isn't great either because if you have too much it is most likely wasted and your body will not respond better if you are eating more then your supposed too. But that's all I got today I hope you enjoyed and if you have any comments please leave one down below and I will respond as soon as I can.
