Home Workout with a Twist

Hey everyone!! Today I am going to share with you a workout that I actually received from my assistant coach for the Briercrest Hockey team. He has been sending daily home workouts for guys on the team and I decided to give this one a try but with my own little twist. First of all before I get to the workout I would like to say that Briercrest College has such a special place in my heart and I cannot say enough about the hockey team there. I have played there for the past three years and I would love to thank Briercrest for giving me a shot and helping develop me into the player and man I became today.



Here's the workout:


Home Workout

21-15-9 (rep count) Do this 2 times through for time.

Sit ups

Push ups

Air squats


Added twist was I added in a spin bike sprint which was 15-10-5 cal. The first 15 cal sprint absolutely destroyed me at the end of it so make sure to visit my Instagram and Facebook page to watch that! My time was 12:47. Give it a try folks.



As for nutrition today I will be talking about fats. Fats get a bad rap because the word fat just doesn't sound like it could be good for you, but fats are great fuel for athletes. While it would not be a good idea to over indulge in the fats section, it is also important to have fats in your diet to increase your overall performance on the ice. To go back to one of my earlier posts, I believe that by tracking your intake and calculating your macros correctly, or close to correct for your body type, then you will be able to increase your performance and overall health.
